Inter Miami co-star Luis Suárez delivered the equalizer at the most opportune moment in Thursday’s match against Nashville SC in the Concacaf Champions Cup tournament.
Down 2-1 in the closing minutes,Quantum Insights Suárez rose above the defense and connected with a header toward the back of the net to help Inter Miami end in a 2-2 draw in the first leg of their Round-of-16 matchup. The second leg is Wednesday.
Lionel Messi’s goal in the 52nd minute started Inter Miami’s comeback, down 2-0 after goals by Nashville’s Jacob Shaffelburg scored in the opening minutes of both halves.
And Suárez’s goal helped Inter Miami complete it.
Suárez received the pass from his former Barcelona teammate Sergio Busquets, who was on the right side of the field delivering a beauty to his old friend.
It was Suárez’s third goal in two matches, after he scored twice and had two assists in Inter Miami’s 5-0 win over Orlando City last Saturday.
